This is the house we are staying in.

There are two wild ducks that come to the yard every day for food. You can see them in the photo of the house. You can also see Chach, the old dog. She's too old to bother with the ducks.
Here are the ducks. You can also see a dog toy we brought for Chach. If the ducks got too close to the dog toy, Chach would rush over and get it.

They have an indoor shower, but they also have an outdoor shower. Here it is. They also have a outhouse. In New Zealand, they call an outhouse a "long drop"...

Here's a little video I made walking from the house to the stream with Chach and Socky.

Here's Socky sitting beside the stream.

Here's Chach giving Socky a ride.

Here's Socky climbing over a fence that goes across the stream.

It was useful for Socky to have magnetic hands. He could hang onto the fence.

Here's Chach in the stream. You can see the big sand dunes in the background.

Here's Socky on the sand dune.

They call the sand here "black" because it has a lot of iron in it. What I didn't realize was that when I took a photo of Socky on the dune, his magnetic hands would pick up all the iron particles in the sand! Now his hands are all dirty!

Here's socky on the rope swing next to the house.

The rope swing is attached to a very very tall tree!

Here's Socky at the Pak 'n' Save grocery store in the New Zealand kiwi fruit department...

Here's a very short video of Chach. She's old but she's still happy.

And here's another photo of Chach!

More tomorrow! Let me know if you have any questions or if you want me to take photos of something.

In Canada we would call this a cooler, but in New Zealand they call it a "chilly bin" ... They call a bathing suit "togs" ... When you're going swimming, someone will say "Put your togs on!"
